Oral histories bridge the gap between textbook facts and real human experiences, preserving the unique voices, emotions, and personal stories that standard history books often leave behind. By documenting these lived experiences, we gain a deeper, more empathetic understanding of our collective past and ensure that diverse perspectives are remembered for future generations. As part of the national America 250 commemoration, the 8th-grade students of Lisbon Central School have taken on the vital role of community historians, capturing these invaluable narratives to honor and preserve the rich heritage of Lisbon, Connecticut.
